  2. who is W3C?
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community that is responsible for the development web standards.
Why listen to what they have to say?
Well W3C encompass the pioneers of web it would be unwise not follow the guidelines they have in place.if we fail to listen or follow the guidelines put in place it could be disastrous.

    1. W3C standards define an Open Web Platform for application development that has the unprecedented potential to enable developers to build rich interactive experiences, powered by vast data stores, that are available on any device. Although the boundaries of the platform continue to evolve, industry leaders speak nearly in unison about how HTML5 will be the cornerstone for this platform. But the full strength of the platform relies on many more technologies that W3C and its partners are creating, including CSS, SVG, WOFF, the Semantic Web stack, XML, and a variety of APIs.
So the main aim/purpose of the W3C is to create rules and guidelines for the usage of the platform provided.

  3. W3c stands for: The World Wide Web Consortium. The W3C is an industry consortium, which seeks to promote standards for the evolution of the Web and interoperability between WWW products by producing specifications and reference software. Industrial members fund the W3C, it is also a vendor-neutral, and its products are freely available to all. The w3c was established in collaboration with CERN, which is where the Web originated, and with support from DARPA and the European Commission." The W3C has taken over from the CERN Hypertext Transfer Protocol daemon or Web server.

  4. This is an international consortium of companies involved with the Internet and the Web. The W3C was founded in 1994 by Tim Berners-Lee, the original architect of the World Wide Web. The organization's purpose is to develop open standards so that the Web evolves in a single direction rather than being splintered among competing factions.

  7. The W3C is the World Wide Web Consortium. Founded by inventor of the World World Web himself and fueled by participation of over 300 technology and web industry it serves as the creator of standards which stipulate specifications for web content. We should listen them because all the major players within the industry actively contribute to the development of the standards for the Web. The use of such such standards and guidelines will lead to the creation of content and is rich, suitable and functional regardless of the ideas being develooped. This will propel the the IT and Web industry forward when we all adhering to at least the same basic standards.

  8. W3C are the authority on setting the standards and interoperability of the web as it relates to the evolution of products. They exist in order that users may realize the full potential of the web. They seek to be vendor neutral, even though they are funded by varying organizations.
They should be listened to as they boast a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field.

  9. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards. Led by Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and CEO Jeffrey Jaffe, W3C's mission is to lead the Web to its full potential.

Why Listen to them? They are an authority on the an authority of the web and of course this is where all the experience and knowledge can be found. deviating from their recommendations would mean that we are heading in the wrong direction and will not see our full potential in this industry

  14. According to Webopedio, W3C is Short for World Wide Web Consortium, an international consortium of companies involved with the Internet and the Web. The W3C was founded in 1994 by Tim Berners-Lee, the original architect of the World Wide Web. The organization's purpose is to develop open standards so that the Web evolves in a single direction rather than being splintered among competing factions.
We listen because W3C continues to evolve to provide the community a productive environment for creating Web standards. W3C standards are created following a consensus-based decision process; consider aspects of accessibility, privacy, security, and internationalization; reflect the views of diverse industries and global stakeholders; balance speed, fairness, public accountability, and quality; benefit from Royalty-Free patent licensing commitments from participants; are stable (and W3C seeks to ensure their persistence at the published URI); benefit from wide review from groups inside and outside W3C; are downloadable at no cost; are maintained in a predictable fashion; are strengthened through interoperability testing.

  15. W3C stands for : - World Wide Web Consortium..

Why listen what they have to say?

    HISTORY
Early in the life of Browsers, mid to late 90's there were two main browsers netscape and internet explorer (ie) and to stay ahead of the game, each company would develop features and capabilities that would only be available on that particular browser. This meant that web designers would have to develop multiple versions of the same webpage to make it compatible with different browsers.

In 1998, a group called the web standards project was formed to combat these issues by organised support of the World Wide Web Consortium recommendations. While the W3C was formed in 1994, at that time no one was listening / following the recommendations, so the Web Standards project started to reference the W3C recommendations as Standards.

They began education and training of users and developers, the adoption of these standards spread.

    ANS
Having a set standard allows everyone to know and understand how to develop their webpage to be compatible with browsers that are compliant with set standards.
